Get in the ring with pro sumo wrestlers at Sumo + Sushi

Sumo + Sushi is coming to New York for only two nights.

Dinner and a movie is so yesterday — at Sumo + Sushi, you can do dinner and a match with a professional sumo wrestler.

Billed as “the ultimate interactive culinary experience,” Sumo + Sushi is coming to Playstation Theater for two nights of champion sumo action with ringside dining for the audience on March 3 and 4.

During the two-hour show, three world-champion wrestlers will demonstrate the history, skills and tactics of the sport, including a Q&A session, before fighting it out in the ring.

USA Sumo founder Andrew Freund with emcee the face-off between three star wrestlers: Byamba from Mongolia, a four-time World Sumo Champion; Yama from Japan, who holds the titles of Pro Sumo Top Division and heaviest Japanese man ever at 600 pounds; and Ramy from Egypt, champion of African Sumo.

You’ll be watching from ringside seats over a bento box dinner that includes edamame, teriyaki chicken, sushi, nigiri and dessert. There’s also a cash bar with local and Japanese beers, sake and cocktails.

Viewing-only tickets starting at $45 and dinner tickets at $89 for two sessions each day at 5 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. But if you think you’d like to try your luck against the professionals, the $299 Get in the Ring ticket will get you just that.

Or you know, just stick to sake and save yourself the lifetime membership to your chiropractor’s office.
