Man allegedly shot in face by Aaron Hernandez granted immunity in South End double murder trial

Alexander Bradley, the man who former New England Patriot star tight end Aaron Hernandez allegedly shot in the face in 2013, was granted immunity from Suffolk County prosecutors who are trying the double murder of two men killed outside a nightclub in 2012.

It is not clear if Bradley will testify in court, but the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office has alleged that Hernandez shot Bradley in the face in February 2013 because he mentioned the fatal shootings of Daniel de Abreu and Safiro Furtado in the South End in 2012.

Hernandez was reportedly suspicious of two men in the club who he thought might be undercover cops. When Bradley said that it might have to do with “that stupid stuff you did in Boston,” Hernandez allegedly shot him in the face and left him for dead on the side of the road.

Bradley is suing Hernandez in federal court for the shooting.

Hernandez is serving a life sentence for the first-degree murder of Odin Lloyd, and Bradley is serving time in a Connecticiut prison for gun charges that are not related to the Hernandez case.

According to documents filed in court on Monday, Bradley was a passenger in Hernandez’s car when he pulled up next to de Abreu and Furtado and opened fire on Shawmut Avenue.

Bradley testified in the Lloyd case in Bristol County and said that Hernandez was known to carry a Glock .45 — the same caliber weapon that was used to kill Lloyd. His body was found in an industrial park in North Attelboro not far from Hernandez’s house.

Hernandez’s double murder trial, which also left three people injured, is scheduled to start in December.
