You may know him for eating 72-ounce steaks, the hottest curry in the world and 180 oysters in one sitting, but “Man v. Food” host Adam Richman has given up his burgers for kale.
Richman revealed that he has been vegan for three months, and surprisingly, this isn’t the first time. He told the Independent that he occasionally goes on a vegan diet to shape up for his big love: soccer. Richman will participate in a UNICEF celebrity event called Soccer Aid to raise money for the children’s charity.
Richman assured his fans that this doesn’t mean he’s going to give up meat forever. He told the Independent, “Now does that mean I’m not going to have a steak? No I absolutely will when I want to, but it’s just about picking and choosing my spots, and when I want to have that cow and I wanna have that bacon, I’m going to make it count, I’m going to make it great quality.”
Richman told the Independent that even he has trouble believing his eyes when he sees how much he ate on “Man v. Food.” He said,“I watch some of those episodes now and I’m going, ‘No way!’ I even talk about it with some of my friends. ‘There’s no way that guy is going to eat all of that!’ But I am that guy!”
