Mayor Marty Walsh announced Monday morning that One Boston Day has been permanently placed on the city’s calendar.

The mayor’s made the announcement via Twitter:

April 15 was chosen by the city to honor “the kindness and support shown in the wake of the marathon bombing on April 15, 2013. A moment of silence will be held at 2:49 p.m. to honor those killed or injured in the attack, followed by the ringing of church bells throughout the city,” WCVB reported.
