New Boston Logan Airport restaurants, stores coming soon

Finding great airport food can be one of the more frustrating experiences of travel, but a new lineup of Logan Airport restaurants on the horizon hopes to change that.

Boston Logan Airport is set to get more than a dozen new airport food options and a few new retail spots by the end of 2018 and in 2019.

The additions to the airport experience will be a mix of local Boston-area favorites as well as regional brands, according to Marketplace Logan, an affiliate of New England Development and manager of the Boston Logan Concessions Program.

Before we get to the new Logan Airport restaurants, let’s talk retail. Boston-based athletic company New Balance will open its first-ever airport retail story in Logan Airport, just in case you need some new kicks on the way to your vacation.

New England Collections, a Logan Airport gift shop already present in Terminal A, will debut two additional airport gift shops as well. Both of those retail changes will be available in 2019.

Now, onto the nourishment: the airport food.

Stephanie’s, a notable Back Bay restaurant, already opened its second Boston Logan location “to rave reviews from passengers” earlier this year in Terminal E (international flights) per Marketplace Logan. So next time you’re heading out on a departing flight and wish you were instead strolling down Newbury Street, you know where to stop for a meal.

Lucca Restaurant & Bar, fine Italian dining in Boston’s North End and Back Bay, will open in Terminal B (home to United, Spirit and American Airlines) before the end of 2018, as will Kelly’s Roast Beef, a Massachusetts mainstay famous for its seafood, and, of course, its roast beef sandwiches.

More Logan Airport food options coming in 2019 include:

Alta Strada, an Italian dining option offering pasta and pizza
B. Good, a burger, salad and bowl fast-casual spot headquartered in Boston with locations across the country
Bruins Bar
Celtics Bar
Mija Cantina and Tequila Bar, a Mexican eatery with a location in Faneuil Hall’s Quincy Market;
Monument Restaurant & Tavern, for “wood-fired pizzas and gastropub grub
Not Your Average Joe’s
Santarpio’s Pizza, the well-known East Boston eatery
Saloniki Greek, the fast-casual Greek sandwich shop from Boston’s acclaimed Chef Jody Adams
Sullivan’s Castle Island, the seafood shack that is a staple for anyone who’s spent a summer day on the South Boston park
Tico, a Mexican restaurant with locations in Boston and Washington, D.C.
Trade, a Mediterranean restaurant also from Jody Adams
And the Boston Public Market. Yup, the Hanover Street market is getting a 6,000-square-foot spot in Logan Airport Terminal C. The next time you’re flying JetBlue out of Terminal C you can stop by the market to see local vendors offering “fresh, seasonal food and drink from New England’s farmers, fishers and food entrepreneurs,” according to restaurateur HMSHost, which has a contract to operate 14 food and beverage locations at Logan Airport. There will also be a full-service bar and Satbucks at the Public Market.

“The New England region has so much to offer in the way of culinary tradition and a thriving modern food scene, and we’re so excited about bringing these special and iconic restaurants into the airport,” said HMSHost Vice President of Business Development Anthony Alessi in a statement.
