NASA released a new image taken by the Hubble Space Telescope of a galaxy far, far way (about 60 million light years to be exact).
In a statement released by the agency on Facebook, NASA described the thin band of light as “galaxy IC 335 in front of a backdrop of distant galaxies,” and that “IC 335 is part of a galaxy group containing three other galaxies.” One commenter on Facebook had an interesting observation about the galaxy (and how old it is) that put things in persepctive. “We weren’t even humans when that galaxy’s light left it,” said the commenter. Whoa.
Pretty amazing, right? Now how about we make a journey there?
