Here’s the Labor Day schedule for Metro-North

Metro-North will add more than a dozen “getaway” trains on its New Haven, Harlem and Hudson lines the Friday before Labor Day.

As many New Yorkers will end their workweek early on Friday to get a jump on their Labor Day weekend festivities, Metro-North aims to get them on the road, err rails, without a hitch.

The railroad is adding 17 extra “getaway” train departures from Grand Central Terminal between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. the Friday before Labor Day. It will also add an extra departure from the Hoboken Terminal on its Port Jervis line.

However, due to reduced ridership ahead of Labor Day weekend, Metro-North will cancel or combine some late-night peak trains, which will be reflected in the railroad’s current timetable.
