Presidential hopeful, Donald Trump thinks that America has too many of its own problems and shouldn’t take in any of the thousands of refugees fleeing the Middle East and Africa.
“From a humanitarian standpoint, I’d love to help, but we have our own problems," Trump told Sean Hannity on Fox News. "We have so many problems that we have to solve."
Trump has developed quite the reputation for stirring controversy, especially in regards to immigration. He’s previously stated he would like to build a wall between Mexico and the United States, and that birthright citizenship in the US should be abolished.
These remarks regarding the ongoing refugee crisis in Europe certainly fall in line with those points.
Trump also took aim at Saudi Arabia and Russia, throwing them and other wealthy countries under the bus for not taking refugees.
"Russia’s not taking, nobody’s taking. We’re supposed to take? We have to straighten out our own problems," Trump argued.
