Reality TV stars who have spent time in jail

Joe Giudice, husband of Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice, is just the latest reality TV star to be sentenced to prison time.

Giudice will serve 41 months at Federal Correctional Institution, Fort Dix in New Jersey ­– a minimum security facility after he and his wife were convicted of tax fraud back in 2014. If you’ve been keeping up with the show, Teresa served 15 months at the Danbury Federal Prison in Connecticut.

On Monday, Joe, 43, had the opportunity to spend time with his wife and their four daughters before he reports for his sentence, according to People.com.

On Wednesday,Teresatook to Twitter to thank her all her fans for their support during this hard time.

Reality TV stars appear to live their lives unfiltered by making all of their personal business public. It’s common to hear stories of them going to jail for being drunk, evading taxes, theft and other crimes.

Sometimes their antics lead them to spending time behind bars.

Teresa Giudice and Joe Giudice

Teresa Giudice was sentenced to 15 month in jail for tax fraud in 2014. Her husband, Joe has to serve a 41-month sentence for participating in the crime from 2014. Their sentences are staggered because they have young children together.

Paris Hilton

Paris Hilton spent some time in jail in 2007 for violating her probation that was related to numerous DUIs. She was released on good behavior.

Nicole Richie

Nicole Richie only spent 82 minutes in jail in 2007 for a DUI. She was supposed to spend four days in jail but her stay was cut short because the jails were overcrowded. She was also pregnant at the time with her first child.

Amber Portwood

Amber Portwood, a star on MTV’s “Teen Mom,” was in jail for a year in 2011 for refusing to complete a drug rehab program. She was supposed to serve a five-year sentence, but the judge decided to release her for good behavior.

Jason Wahler

Bad behavior has landed the Laguna Beach star in jail several times. He’s been to jail three times for several charges from underage drinking, assault and punching a city worker in 2007.

Khloe Kardashian

Khloe Kardashian only spent a few hours in jail in 2008 for violating her parole from a drinking and driving arrest in 2007. Of course we all got to witness this on “Keeping up with the Kardashians.”

Renee Alway

This definitely isn’t model behavior.The former “America’s Top Model” star is currently serving 12 years in prison for burglary, vehicle theft, posession of a firearm and other crimes.

Bobby Brown

Most of us know Bobby Brown for his music and being the husband of the late Whitney Houston. In 2005, he had his own reality show, “Being Bobby Brown.” Brown has always had run-ins with the law ranging from drunk driving, drug possession, and missing child support payments. In 2013, Brown turned himself in for a DUI and served a 55-day sentence.

Apollo Nida

If you follow “Real Housewives of Atlanta” you know about Apollo Nida. Apollo is the husband of “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star,Phaedra Parks. Apollo is currently serving an eight-year sentence for cashing stolen checks and laundering more than $2.3 million through phony bank accounts in 2014, according toTMZ.

Jenelle Evans

This “Teen Mom” star has been to jail several times since 2011. In 2011, she spent time in jail for violating her parole and testing positive for drugs. In 2012, she was behind bars for domestic violence and cyber-stalking. She has also been to jail for driving with a suspended license.

Alexis Neirs

Alexis Neirs starred on E!’s reality TV show “Pretty Wild.” She was a member of “The Bling Ring” — a group who burglarized celebrity homes in Hollywood. In 2010 she served one month of a six month sentence. Fun fact: During Neirs last five days in prision, she got to spend it in a cell next to Lindsay Lohan — which was one of the homes she burglarized during her crime spree.

Richard Hatch

The winner of the first season of “Survivor” spent time in jail for tax evasion. In 2006, he was sent to prison for more than three years for tax evasion. In 2011, he was sentenced to a nine-month sentence forfailing to pay taxes on a $1 million check.
