Kylian Mbappe transfer rumors: Chelsea next?

The year of Kylian Mbappe continued on Monday night as he was honored by FIFA, being named to the 2018 FIFPro World 11.

At 19 years old, the Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) star is not even close to entering the prime of his career yet, but he is still one of the most impressive talents in the world, a captivating performance for France at the 2018 World Cup only cementing his place as a star.

With a World Cup title already in hand, Mbappe is currently applying his trade in his home country at PSG, a club he was on loan with from Monaco before the signing became permanent last summer.

The short offseason leading up to the 2018-19 campaign put Mbappe’s future with the Parisian club in question, though that was a given after what was a coming out party at Word Cup.

Real Madrid, who was looking to replace the talents of Cristiano Ronaldo, who defected to Juventus in July, made a push for him, but PSG managed to not only hold onto him, but his Brazilian teammate Neymar.

Even with the transfer window now closed, and not opening again until January, it looks as though one team is already recruiting Mbappe for a future transfer.

Kylian Mbappe to Chelsea?

With the Best FIFA Football Awards taking place in London, Mbappe was at the heart of English soccer where he rubbed elbows with some notable names applying their trade in the Premier League.

Most notably, Mbappe was seen with Chelsea stars Eden Hazard, Willian, and fellow Frenchman N’Golo Kante along with Chelsea legend Didier Drogba. Chelsea defender David Luiz was the one working the camera:

The photo obviously had Chelsea fans thrilled at the possibility of the club recruiting such an elite talent like Mbappe, though any chance of the Blues getting the 19-year-old will be difficult.

PSG, who is looking to expand its presence on the European stage by winning a Champions League, will do everything in its power to hold onto the Frenchman for as long as possible.

But seeing Mbappe hanging around such a strong Chelsea influence isn’t necessarily a bad sign for the London-based club.
