The Queens Night Market pops up in Brooklyn for one day

Industry City will host the Queens Night Market for a rock-themed pop-up.

When the coolest event in Queens comes to summer’s newest hotspot, you’ve got to be there.

The Queens Night Market is hopping over to Brooklyn from its usual home in Flushing Meadows for a special pop-up night market at Industry City this Saturday, Sept. 9. Taste your way through more than 20 of the indie market’s vendors from 5 p.m. to midnight at an indoor/outdoor market, plus something you won’t find in Corona Park: booze!

And because Industry City sounds more like the name of an amazing concert venue than the amazing hub of art, food and urban beach vibes that it is, the free event also doubles as a massive themed party.

Get into the Shop, Rock & Roll spirit by channeling your inner Mick Jagger or Gwen Stefani (in her No Doubt days) or any rock star with an outfit ready to bust out some riffs. (Or just come dressed in your best band swag, because artists are nothing without their fans.) Hair styling and makeup stations will be available, plus a photobooth to commemorate it all.

Where there are costumes, there are of course contests with prizes for Best Hair, Best Rock Star Lookalike and Best Concert Gear. And because the Queens Night Market and Industry City are all about promoting under-the-radar local talent, you’ll be able to chat up musicians from the five boroughs to hear what’s bangin’ in your own backyard while DJ Mateo DiFontaine keeps everyone grooving, or join a live band or group karaoke session.

And for an extra hit of nostalgia, bring your old mix tapes and CDs to swap with fellow music lovers. Rock. On.
