Teen stabbed to death in Queens; one in custody: NYPD

Police in Queens are questioning a person of interest in connection with a deadly stabbing on Wednesday night that claimed a 17-year-old girl’s life.

According to law enforcement sources, officers from the 108th Precinct responded to a 911 call of a female stabbed in the vicinity of Queens Boulevard and 46th Street in Sunnyside at approximately 9:25 p.m. on May 8.

When cops arrived, they discovered the victim with a bloody gash to the neck, officials said. 

EMS rushed the victim to NYC Health and Hospitals/Elmhurst where she was pronounced dead. Police have withheld her identity, pending family notification.

Preliminary reports indicated that detectives detained a person of interest in connection with the incident. As of Wednesday morning, law enforcement sources did not confirm that individual’s identity, or their connection to the victim.

Charges against the person of interest are pending the results of the ongoing investigation.

The 108th Precinct had no homicides this year to date or last year during the same time period, according to the latest police data. Total crime year to date is down almost 6% from the same point in May 2023.
