Police in Queens are investigating a deadly stabbing at a bodega early on Tuesday morning.

Law enforcement sources said the bloodshed occurred at about 12:30 a.m. on May 7 at the Sinal Mini Mart located at 97-02 Queens Blvd. in Rego Park.

Members of the 112th Precinct, in responding to a 911 call about the stabbing, found an unconscious man outside the location with a stab wound to his chest.

According to WABC-TV, the victim — believed to be in his 20s or 30s – may have been knifed during a dispute over beer. Police sources, however, could not confirm those details with amNewYork Metro.

EMS units rushed the wounded man to Elmhurst Hospital, where he died a short time later. The NYPD has not yet released his identity, pending family notification.

So far, no arrests have been made in the ongoing investigation, police said.

The 112th Precinct, traditionally one of the safest in New York City, had not seen a homicide year-to-date through May 5, according to the most recent CompStat report. Overall major crime is down 9.1% for the year, with fewer than 280 felonies reported.
