Feel Good Foods, a gluten-free frozen food business, is celebrating its rebrand and National Celiac Disease Awareness Month with a free pop-up tasting event in Chelsea on May 3. 

The business is inviting everyone to indulge in its popular diner foods, which were designed with health in mind. All of its treats, from mozzarella sticks and jalapeno bites to pancake bites and dumplings, are gluten-free.

Vanessa Phillips, CEO and Co-Founder of the brand, created Feel Good Foods in her studio apartment in the West Village. But now the treats can be found in freezer aisles across the nation.

“Crafting gluten-free recipes of the comfort food classics that I grew up on at my family’s Manhattan restaurants has been my goal since I started Feel Good Foods in 2012,” Phillips said in a statement. “I like to think of this pop-up as a chance for us to step outside of the freezer aisle for the day to say thank you to our passionate community and give them a few surprises they’ve been patiently waiting for, while also introducing ourselves to those who may not know us yet.”

Philips joked that no one is sad when they’re eating their comfort foods, so her rebrand was all about capturing the celebratory energy commonly attributed to the dishes she offers. 

“It’s always been about being joyful, having fun and bringing people together,” she told amNewYork Metro. “It gives you permission to indulge and feel good while eating your childhood favorites. It’s very nostalgic.”

Her brand offers a wide range of frozen foods people may know but with a health twist, including preservative-free ingredients, antibiotic-free proteins and cage-free eggs. 

The pop-up comes at the start of National Celiac Disease Awareness Month. Celiac disease is an immune reaction to eating gluten. Those affected are often put on restrictive diets to prevent symptom flare-ups. Part of Feel Good Foods core values involves giving everyone, no matter their health restriction, a chance to enjoy chef-inspired dishes. 

Reservations are highly recommended but there will be limited space for walk-ins. The pop-up is taking place in the heart of Chelsea at 140 W. 31st St., near Herald Square, from 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
