The thing about the Internet — and Twitter specifically — is that it’s public. So when you post something mean about a famous person, there’s actually a chance they’ll read it. And there’s an even better chance if Jimmy Kimmel’s staff happens to find it. Kimmel’s long-running segment, “Celebrities Read Mean Tweets,” is back with a new installment, and the participants are pretty impressive. Gwyneth Paltrowlooks honestly bummed by being called an “ugly ass big bird looking bitch,” while Gerard Butler admits that he has no excuse for why he keeps making “s— films.”
Some take it better than others, like the always charming Chris Pratt, while others like Britney Spears and Lisa Kudroware completely caught off-guard by the hate. But just be careful, angry tweeters, because some celebrities — Chloe Grace Moretz and Adam Sandler in particular — aren’t afraid to fight back. So remember, don’t say anything about someone on Twitter you wouldn’t say to their face. Unless you want it to end up on Kimmel.
