An 18-year-old man is in handcuffs after allegedly fatally stabbing his mother in their Brockton home Wednesday, authorities said.
Frantz Polynice is charged with one count of homicide and one count of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon for the killing of Mania Meneide, 44, NECN reported.
Police were called to the home on Merritt Avenue around 1 p.m., where they found Meneide with multiple stab wounds. She was taken to Brockton Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
When emergency responders arrived at the scene, Polynice was reportedly sitting calmly on the front porch of his home, WCVB reported.
A motive for the stabbing is unknown.
Polynice will be arraigned in Brockton District Court on Thursday.
