Boston's Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Breakfast, the latest installment of a long-running tradition in the city, kicks off Monday morning with a guest list of top political brass.
Speakers for the event include Gov. Charlie Baker and Mayor Marty Walsh, as well as Senators Elizabeth Warren and Ed Markey and Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey.
The keynote speaker this year is Ruth Simmons, president emeritus of Brown University, the first African-American president of an Ivy League college.
The breakfast starts at 8 a.m. Monday at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center. The event is the nation's longest-running of its kind.
Fewer than two dozen tickets for the affair, at $50 each, remained as of Sunday night. Find more information here.
