Mets closer Jeurys Familia was arrested on Halloween on a domestic violence charge, according to NorthJersey.com.
Familia caused "bodily injury to another," according to court papers.
"The matter was brought to our attention and we are monitoring the situation," the Mets organization said in a Tuesday statement.
The New York sports scene has had an ugly stretch with sports figures and domestic violence as NFL kicker Josh Brown was released by the Giants just last week due to domestic violence revelations, and last year the Yankees caught heat for bringing in Aroldis Chapman. Chapman, who now pitches for the Chicago Cubs, is said to have choked his girlfriend in an argument last year.
