Police have identified a dead man who was found with a zip tie around his neck in the backseat of a car after responding to a robbery call on Tuesday evening.

The man has been identified as 36-year-old Robert Bishun, 9 Lewis Road
Garnerville, New York.

Just before 9 p.m., police responded to a robbery call at 1631 Stillwell Ave. in the Bronx. Customers told them that two men wearing masks, gloves and hoodies tied them up and put them in the trunks of two vehicles, NYPD said. They were able to get free before the police arrived and they told officers that the body shop employee was missing.

The employee's car was found after 11 p.m. in front of 6071 Broadway in the Bronx.

Police said an adult male was seated in the back seat, unconscious and unresponsive, with a zip tie around his neck. He was pronounced dead at Montefiore Hospital.

When asked about a specific location, an NYPD spokesman would only say, "It's a body shop," but would not confirm the name of the business. No sketches of the suspects have been released.
