An arctic blast that moved into New York City on Thursday will keeps temperatures low through the weekend.

“The highs won’t be very high,” said Joe Pollina, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service.

Friday’s high is expected to be in the upper teens, with wind chills dipping into the single digits.

Temperatures Saturday will “rebound” into the upper 20s and low 30s, with a chance of snow, but Sunday will see highs only in the middle-to-upper teens.

Sunday night into Monday morning could be the coldest air the city has felt this season, Pollina said, with overnight lows in the single digits, and possibly below zero, and wind chills as low as -20 degrees.

“It will be very, very bitterly cold,” Pollina said.
