Spring arrived more than a week early in the Big Apple on Wednesday with temperatures in the high 70s – and we’re not complaining.

According to the National Weather Service, Central Park reached a high of 77 degrees by about 2 p.m. beating the March 9 record in 2000 of 69 degrees.

A spokesman for the agency said that the city could “come close” to breaking records on Thursday as well, with temperatures forecast to reach 72 degrees but with a slight chance of rain.

Records were also hit beyond Manhattan, with LaGuardia Airport seeing a high of 75; Islip, New York reaching 68 degrees; and Newark, New Jerasey hitting 81 degrees.

After Thursday, temperatures are expected to stay in the low 60s throughout the weekend with a high of 63 degrees on Friday, 60 degrees on Saturday and 58 degrees on Sunday.
