The latest adviser on “The Voice” has now been announced: Rihanna will be stepping in to the role in the latest season, which returns September 21. The news was announced at the Television Critics Association press tour by Robert Greenblatt, chairman of NBC entertainment.

As to the show’s longevity in light of “American Idol” ending, Greenblatt said, “We’re always mindful of decline and wearing out our welcome.” But that doesn’t mean it’s going anywhere soon. “I can’t say it’ll be on two cycles a year for forever, but we’re pleased with how well it’s holding up.”

That wasn’t the only big news out of Greenblatt’s panel. Tina Fey and Robert Carlock will have a new, as yet untitled show at NBC. It’s created by Tracey Wigfield, who worked on “30 Rock” with Fey and Carlock, and won an Emmy for co-writing the series finale with Fey. The show centers on an up and coming millennial woman who works at a cable news company whose mother also starts working there after rejoining the workforce.

There will also be a new show coming from Mike Schur, who was the brains behind “Parks and Recreation.” The series is tentatively titled “A Good Place,” and centers on a woman wrestling with what it means to be good. Greenblatt also promised that a big name would be in that one, but didn’t name names, leaving everyone to start guessing who will star. Our (nonexistent) money is on Aubrey Plaza taking the lead on this one.

A few other brief notes: Jimmy Fallon is officially signed on for “The Tonight Show” through 2021, and Common will be playing a comedic non-singing role as the gatekeeper to Oz in “The Wiz,” alongside Neyo as the Tin Man and Elijah Kelley as the Scarecrow.
