1. Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj make amends.Swift and Minaj showed there was no “Bad Blood” between them (the two had a Twitter fight when MTV announced the VMA nominees) by performing a three-song medley together, opening the show. Unlike last year, Minaj’s performance went off without any embarrassing wardrobe malfunctions.

2. Nicki Minaj uses her acceptance speech to call out Miley Cyrus. When Nicki Minaj accepted her award for Best Hip-Hop Music Video, she managed to thank her pastor and challenge Cyrus to a fight all in under 30 seconds. It turns out Minaj didn’t like what Cyrus had to say about her in a recent interview with theNew York Times(Cyrus called Minaj “not too polite” and “not too kind”) and used the moment to call her out on it.

3. Justin Bieber flies.Justin Bieber‘s comeback continued with a high energy performance of his songs “Where Are U Now” and his newly released single “What Do You Mean?” At one point during his performance, he actually flew. The MTV VMAs: where miracles happen.

4. Miley Cyrus changes outfits 10 times. The best part of Cyrus hosting the VMAs was hands-down her crazy outfits, including one that was literally a colorfully-striped square. (We rounded them all up here so you can see them all in their fabulous glory.)

5. Taylor Swift honors Kanye West. Swift certainly had a busy night making amends. While presenting West with the 2015 Vanguard Award, she made light of the time he snatched the mic out of her hand and told him his album was the very first thing she bought on iTunes when she was 12. Though West gets a lot of hate in the media, the crowd was on his side, literally chanting his name. And of course, Kanye being Kanye, he stood there and let them for far longer than necessary. And then gave a 10-minute speech ending with him announcing that he was running for president in 2020.

6. Miley Cyrus drops her new album and it’s free for everyone. The night’s host closed down the show with her own performance declaring over and over again how she “didn’t give a f—k” and how much she liked smoking pot. And she did it all with some of her favorite drag queen and transgender dancers backing her up. Then, she announced that her new album, “Miley Cyrus and Her Dead Petz” was out now 100 percent for free atmileycyrusandherdeadpetz.com. She really did keep viewers guessing up until the very end.
