Apparently there’s nothing you can’t monetize or commodify, at least not if you hail from the Kardashian-Jenner clan. To wit, 17-year-old Kylie Jenner has reportedly filed an application to trademark her first name for “entertainment in the nature of providing information by means of a global computer network in the fields of entertainment, fashion and pop culture” and for personal appearances “by a celebrity, actress and model.” Hey, at least we finally have a lock on what her career technically is.

One hitch, though: There’s already a famous pop star named Kylie — Minogue, in case you’re wondering — who has been famous longer than Jenner has been alive. Which might cause a problem down the road, no? Also, couldn’t you at least wait until you’re of legal voting age before you start trademarking yourself? Kids these days.
