Updated: Celebrities react to Harvey Weinstein

Last week, the New York Times released an expose, detailing sexual harassment allegations against Harvey Weinstein. And Hollywood’s best (and Hollywood’s — UGH, you’re still here?) are not having it.

After The Weinstein Co. announced that they had ousted the 65-year-old — whom then-attorney Lisa Bloom described as “an old dinosaur learning new ways,” ew — a bunch of famous people took to social media, et. al to show support for Weinstein’s accusers — or in Lindsay Lohan’s case, support for the accused. Classic Lilo.

Here’s what they had to say.

“Whenever [Weinstein] would come up in conversation, there was always this ‘ick’ or ‘ugh’ [reaction].” — Ryan Murphy, man who blessed/cursed us with “American Horror Story”

“He’s one schmuck who did what he did… It’s not just our community — this is happening in every workplace in America. It’s disgusting. We have to create a safe atmosphere where women are able to tell their stories.” — Rob Reiner, national treasure

“To be clear what Harvey Weinstein did was a disgusting abuse of power and horrible. I hope we are now seeing the beginning of the end of these abuses.” — Mark Ruffalo, lifelong zaddy

“Easy to think Weinstein company took swift action but this has actually been the slowest action because they always always knew.” — Lena Dunham, y’alls fave, making a good point

“The “old dinosaur” explanation doesn’t cut it. DECADES of using power to intimidate women for sexual gain is reprehensible and inexcusable.” — Emmy Rossum, potentially my new fave

“I’m sick of the media demanding only women speak up. What about the men? Perhaps many are afraid to look at their own behavior.” — Jessica Chastain, woke bae

“H Weinstein -yikes! Disgusting and creepy. So is ‘leader of the free world’ btw.” — Michael Keaton, the only Batman I will ever recognize. Bonus points for the Donald Trump burn, my dude.

“The disgraceful news about Harvey Weinstein has appalled those of us whose work he championed, and those whose good and worthy causes he supported… The behavior is inexcusable, but the abuse of power familiar. — Meryl Streep, who should just be president now probably

“As always, I stand with the brave survivors of sexual assault and harassment. It’s not your fault. I believe you.” — Brie Larson, baby girl who is historically woker than woke

“We must believe women who, often at great risk, expose harassment. Those who spoke out about Harvey Weinstein have shown real courage.” — Beau Willimon, “House of Cards” creator, down ass dude

“I am saddened and angry that a man who I worked with used his position of power to intimidate, sexually harass and manipulate many women over decades. The additional allegations of assault that I read this morning [Ed. note: The rape allegations made by three actress on October 10] made me sick.” — Sad Ben Affleck, who I didn’t even know had a Twitter

“I had hoped that these kind of stories were just made up rumors, maybe we have all been naïve. And it makes me so angry. There must be ‘no tolerance’ of this degrading, vile treatment of women in ANY workplace anywhere in the world.” — Kate Winslet, on the beginning of her journey to ye olde land of woke

“I’m sitting here, deeply upset, acknowledging to myself that, yes, for many years, I have been aware of the vague rumors that Harvey Weinstein had a pattern of behaving inappropriately around women. Harvey has always been decent to me, but now that the rumors are being substantiated, I feel angry and darkly sad.” — Glenn Close, who played Cruella deVil once

“It’s indefensible. That’s the only word you can start with. Harvey’s admitted to it, and it’s indefensible. I’ve known Harvey for 20 years. He gave me my first big break as an actor in films on ‘From Dusk Till Dawn,’ he gave me my first big break as a director with ‘Confessions of a Dangerous Mind.’ We’ve had dinners, we’ve been on location together, we’ve had arguments. But I can tell you that I’ve never seen any of this behavior—ever.” — George Clooney, aka Amal Clooney’s husband, a man who once starred in an episode of “Golden Girls”

“I’m as appalled and repulsed by the Weinstein news as anyone with a beating heart. And forever in awe of the bravery of those who spoke out.” — Lin-Manuel Miranda, local and national multi-hyphenate celebrity

“I had a bad experience with Harvey Weinstein in my youth, and as a result, chose never to work with him again and warn others when they did. This behavior towards women in any field, any country is unacceptable.” — Angelina Jolie, almost honeypot

“I feel very bad for Harvey Weinstein right now. I don’t think it’s right what’s going on… He’s never harmed me or did anything to me. We’ve done several movies together. I think everyone needs to stop. I think it’s wrong. So stand up.” — Lindsay Lohan, a white woman who claimed to be racially profiled once
