“Scandal” season 6 was filled with murders, mystery and a lot of drama, leading up to the two-hour finale in which Olivia Pope takes over the B613 agency.
It seems like there is enough material for several more seasons, leaving many fans wondering why this will be the final season of “Scandal.”
According to The Hollywood Reporter, ABC entertainment president Channing Dungey told reporters that Shonda Rhimes had only envisioned seven seasons of “Scandal” and wanted to end it the way she wanted to without it dying on its own.
“She said, ‘Look, I really feel like season seven is where I want to wrap up this story, because I always prefer to end a show where you’re feeling on top as opposed to letting things fizzle out,'” Dungey said to reporters just before ABC’s upfront presentations.
When you think about it, the show had an amazing run. We got to see not only Kerry Washington as Olivia Pope, but also drama from the TV show that rivaled drama happening in the real White House.
In fact, Shonda Rhimes and her team of writers had to change some of the storylines in season 6 because of Donald Trump’s alleged ties to Russia during the presidential election.
Shonda Rhimes has big plans for the final season of “Scandal,” and her time has been spent working hard so the show can go out with a bang.
According to Hollywood Reporter, there will be several episodes showing President Fitzgerald Grant and Olivia Pope’s relationship together. We’re not clear on how things will pan out, but we’re sure everything will unfold during the “Scandal” final season.
