Dunkin’ Donuts fries are taking Boston by storm.

The Canton-based company has been quietly testing out a $2 snacking menu over the past few weeks, including a sweet take on everybody’s favorite deep-fried side dish. While the donut fries are currently only available at a handful of locations, they’ve quickly become a viral sensation since a Reddit user recently posted about the new offerings, which also include items like Munchkin dippers, waffle-breaded chicken tenders, pretzel bites and gluten-free brownies.

Dunkin’ Donuts fans can expect the fries to taste a bit like churros, featuring a soft and light dough that’s fried and covered in sugar and cinnamon. The new offering is surprisngly tasty and not overly sweet.

Since the snacking menu is still in the testing phase, unfortunately, there are only three locations around the Boston area where you can get your hands on the new treats.

“As part of Dunkin’ Donuts’ ongoing commitment to menu innovation and meeting the needs of on-the-go guests, the brand is now testing a new $2 snacking menu at a small number of its restaurants in the Boston market,” the company said in a statement. Fans can try the donut fries and more at Dunkin’ Donuts stores on 265 Franklin St. in Boston’s Financial District, 100 Harborside Drive at Logan Airport, as well as the new concept restaurant located on 588 Washington St. in Qunicy.

Dunkin’ Donuts hopes to use feedback from customers and employees to decide whether or not a “national rollout” of the donut fries and other offerings is possible.

“The snacking menu features several new sweet and savory items that pair perfectly with Dunkin’ Donuts’ signature beverages and are ideal for an energizing afternoon break,” the company said in a statement.

Judging by some reactions on social media, it sounds like Dunkin’ Donuts fans have found their new guilty pleasure.
