Justin Bieber's big roast aired last night on Comedy Central (minus a few insensitive jokes about Paul Walker that got cut from the broadcast), and comedian Hannibal Buress, who's getting known for being unafraid to get pretty honest up on stage, let loose with a pretty smart joke at both Bieber's and Comedy Central's expense. After pointing out that a roast is supposed to be done by people who love you, Buress acknowledged that the only reason he was up on the stage was that it was a good career opportunity.

It was a rare moment of self-reflection in the show, which was otherwise a parade of jokes about Bieber's abandonment of his pet monkey in Germany, his relationship with Selena Gomez and a lot of suggestions that he's gay or a woman. Considering the entire spectacle was executive produced by Bieber's manager Scooter Braun, the fact that Bieber got to close out the night with a public apology probably isn't too surprising.
