A man was taken to the hospital Monday afternoon after being shot by police near a Bronx housing development, according to published reports.
The shooting occurred at about 3:45 p.m. at 1071 Tinton Ave. near the Forest Houses, NY 1 reported. Police said a gun, which allegedly belonged to the injured man, was recovered at the scene, NY1 added.
The NYPD confirmed the police officer-involved shooting via Twitter.
