Hey straphangers! Starting Monday, MTA is reintroducing the W train to the schedule, which means some changes for the N/Q/R lines.
W trains will operate weekdays between Astoria-Ditmars Boulevard and Whitehall Street, making all local stops in Queens and along the Broadway line in Manhattan.
The W line will replace Q service in Astoria and will provide local service to the Broadway line in Manhattan on weekdays. The W will not operate late nights or on weekends.
The first southbound W train will leave Astoria-Ditmars at 6:53 a.m., according to MTA, and will arrive at Whitehall Street at 7:33 a.m. on weekdays.
The first northbound W train will leave Whitehall at 7:06 a.m. and arrive at Astoria-Ditmars at 7:45 a.m.
N trains will make express stops in Manhattan between Times Sq-42 Street and Canal Street on weekdays during peak hours, midday and evenings. Q trains will make express stops in Manhattan and end at 57 Street/7 Avenue until the Second Avenue Subway opens. The R will continue to operate in Brooklyn between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m., but will extend to Whitehall Street in lower Manhattan and continue to Bay Ridge-95 Street making all local stops.
