Hulk Hogan happy with his $140 million Gawker verdict

How would you react if a judge awarded you $115 million, plus an additional $25 million in punitive damages?

Probably something like the way Hulk Hogan did at the recent culmination of this sex tape trial against Gawker Media, but hopefully you’d be a little less descriptive when talking about it. “I kind of snorted,” Hogan tells Page Six.

“Everything, like my whole head, like a bucket of water was going to come out of my face. It was so overwhelming. It was almost like I was relieved that they believed me. I was so out of it, I didn’t hear the numbers until we got upstairs. I went, ‘Oh!'”Oh, indeed.

Millions aside, Hogan sees a lesson in all of this. “For me, the message is America is tired of this type of behavior, and it’s unacceptable, and it’s illegal. I hope [the defendants] learned what the trial was about: that we were actually protecting the First Amendment and carving out that little piece of privacy,” he says. “I’m just a normal man. I made mistakes. Everybody deserves a second chance.” Funny he should mention that, since Gawker is planning to appeal.
