Expert says sex robots can kill you if they are hacked

As technology continues to advance, sex robots are slowly becoming more popular in the adult entertainment industry.

While there are people who will drop thousands of dollars to gain pleasure from a sex robot, a cyber security expert warns that these same sex robots could cause a lot of pain – and not the kind you may have been looking for.

According to a recent report, it is possible for hackers to gain full control of a sex robot and have it do more harm than good.

Dr. Nick Patterson, a cyber security expert and faculty member at Deakin University in Australia told the Daily Star Online that sex dolls programmed with artificial intelligence could one day turn against their companion and possibly kill them if they are hacked into and could be easier than hacking into a computer or a cellphone.

“Hackers can hack into a robot or a robotic device and have full control of the connections, arms, legs and other attached tools like knives or welding devices,” he said. “Once a robot is hacked, the hacker has full control and can issue instructions to the robot,” Patterson added.

When artificial intelligence was first introduced in robots and other computer applications, many people feared that the robot would somehow just turn evil on its own. The real threat here is not the AI turning bad, it is some savvy hacker taking over your sex-bot and catch you when you’re most vulnerable. Something like this can happen if the sex robot is equipped with Wi-Fi or some type of network connection.

If you were ever interested in buying a sex robot you probably should exercise the same security precautions as you do with any computer or mobile device you own that connects to a network.

The last thing you want is your unprotected sex robot to catch you with your pants down.
