One of the founding members of the Hart Foundation, Jim “The Anvil Neidhart,” died Monday at the age of 63. Neidhart was a two-time WWF tag team champion with his brother in law Bret Hart as a part of the Hart Foundation. The Anvil also returned to the WWF in 1997 to join a larger Hart Foundation faction with Brian Pillman, Owen Hart, The British Bulldog Davey Boy Smith and Bret. Many are asking Monday How did Jim The Anvil Neidhart die cause of death.

Bret Hart posted a picture of the two wearing the WWF tag team belts on Twitter Monday with the caption, “Stunned and saddened. I just don’t have the words right now.”

It is not clear if Neidhart suffered a heart attack early Monday morning. The Pasco Sheriff’s Office in Florida told TMZ Sports: “Preliminary information indicates that [Neidhart] fell at his home, hit his head, and succumbed to his injury. No foul play suspected. No additional information to release at this time.”

The Emergency Dispatch audio released Monday indicates that Neidhart suffered a seizure. From the audio: “The caller is now saying it’s a possible non-breather. She’s unable to make access … Reference to convulsions. Be advised they think he might be signal 7 (dead).”

Neidhart had had a history of drug use, according to several notable wrestling podcasts. He was also arrested in 2010 and had pill bottles containing Oxycontin and methadone. The pills had been prescribed to a friend of Neidhart’s Mary Cutillo.

Neidhart had been making regular appearances on the TV show Total Divas as he is the father of WWE female wrestler Natalya Neidhart. He last wrestled in WWE in 2007 and also wrestlied in TNA and WCW. It is expected that WWE will acknowledge Neidhart’s death after the signature that opens the show.
