Mets Yankees spring training: Watch free live stream, TV, more

Mets’ offseason plans still revolve around Yoenis Cespedes

New York baseball fans will get a healthy dose of the Subway Series this week as the Mets and Yankees face off twice in the span of four days beginning on Wednesday afternoon in Port St. Lucie, FL.

While spring training games are usually nothing more than a tune-up, there will be fans of both the Queens and Bronx residents that will be looking for early bragging rights even though the two teams have very different projections.

The Yankees are one of the favorites to represent the American League in the World Series after the acquisition of reigning NL MVP Giancarlo Stanton while the Mets — a team riddled with question marks based on their dubious health history — are a fringe playoff team that could possibly challenge the Washington Nationals for the National League East.

Wednesday will also feature Todd Frazier facing off against his old team for the first time. The Mets third baseman was acquired in free agency this winter after joining the Yankees for a postseason push last season.

After the Yankees bowed out of the ALCS to the eventual World Series champion Houston Astros, Frazier made it be known that he wanted to return to the Yankees. When those statements were brought up this week, he was quick to realign his allegiances with the Mets (h/t Dan Martin of the New York Post).

“When the season was over last year, I said I wanted to be a Yankee and I meant it,” Frazier said. “But that washed away once nothing happened with them. I wasn’t upset they didn’t want me back and I’m glad to be a Met.”

Frazier will bat fourth on Wednesday as Anthony DiComo revealed the Mets’ lineup:

This is how the Yankees will counter, though it’s a weakened lineup:
