Mark Cuban 2020? Mark Cuban, the billionaire with his toes in TV and sports, opened up about his presidential ambitions and teased what party he’d join if he were to challenge President Donald Trump’s reelection bid, TMZ founder Harvey Levin said.
“I definitely think there’s a chance he’s going to run for president,” Levin told Business Insider. “I think he would be a fascinating candidate.”
Cuban is scheduled to appear on Levin’s new Fox News show “OBJECTified,” an hour-long show in which Levin interviews celebrities and political figures.
If Cuban decides to print up Mark Cuban 2020 signs and run against the incumbent, Levin said he knows which party affiliation Cuban would choose.
“I’m not going to give the show away, but he does tell me,” Levin said. “And he’s very open about it too, I mean he was very open about what he may or may not do.”
Politically independent, Cuban has said he would prefer to be a small-government Republican, but his views on social issues clash with the GOP. Cuban has been a public fan of the Affordable Care Act and other Democratic initiatives.
As a Republican, a Mark Cuban 2020 run would directly challenge Trump in the primaries. The owner of the Dallas Mavericks and star of Shark Tank, who stumped for Hillary Clinton in the last election, wasn’t very political until Trump ran for president. No. 45 seemed to stoke a fire in Cuban who openly and often criticized Trump.
Think Progress reported earlier this year that Levin is personally involved in positive stories about Trump and he reportedly talks to the president regularly.
Levin, who met with Trump at the White House in March, said he doesn’t think he has spoken to POTUS since but has been criticized since OBJECTified first aired on Fox.

“People will criticize all sorts of things,” Levin said. “I don’t see us as pro-Trump at all. If you watch TMZ at all, there is a chorus of people who are not happy with him and voice it. And I’ve got huge issues myself with some of the things that have happened over the last six months or nine months.”
“I don’t have an agenda to keep somebody in office or to kill them,” he added. “That’s just not the mission statement here.”
Cuban praised Levin’s interview style in an email to Business Insider.
“Harvey does a great job,” Cuban said. “The questions weren’t the same old same old. He offered insights that led to some great conversation.”
